Biography
PAN An, an Australian-Chinese painter, started painting at a young age and published his work in newspapers in first grade. He exhibited portraits of many of the leader of the Cultural Revolution. He was recruited by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army in 1975 to create art. He moved to Australia in 1990 and attended the Australian National University School of Art. He had several solo exhibitions and his works is collected by institutions and individuals in Australia, the US, and Singapore. His sketches and interviews have appeared on the front page of the Australian Capital Territory newspaper and on radio and television stations. He attended China Academy of Oil Painting for two years in 2012. He’s had two National Army Art Exhibition selections since 2014. He also participated in the Shanghai Liberation Commemorative Exhibition and the National Museum of China’s Commemorative Exhibition of the Victory of the Sino-Japanese War.
