Biography

LI Hong is a Chinese-born artist who was born in Beijing in 1959. She graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Art in 1984, majoring in woodblock printing, and later moved to Australia in 1987 to further her studies. She went on to receive her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Sydney College of Fine Art. LI Hong has held several solo exhibition and participated in various group exhibitions in Beijing, Tibet, Malaysia, Hungary, and the USA, and her art is held in significant collections in both Australia and China. LI Hong’s works are characterized by coarse and abstract lines, exhibiting strong dynamism and modernity. Her works not only express the current life but also her reflection and contemplation on this era. She tries to challenge traditional aesthetic standards, creating unique works with bold innovation and personalized style and attempts to convey a profound message through artistic language.
