Biography

DU Chonggang is a Chinese-born artist who currently resides in Australia. He was born in 1963 and served as a professor at the Ji Nan Craft Arts College and Shan Dong Art Academy in China from 1985 to 2003. Du Chonggang is a member of the China Artist’s Association and has an extensive educational background, including a Master of Fine Art from Monash University, Australia, a Bachelor of Fine Art from Shan Dong Normal University, China, and a Diploma of Fine Art from Shan Dong Arts College, China. Du has exhibited his work in numerous solo and group exhibitions and received many awards throughout his career. His art has also been featured in various publications, including “Chinese Oil Painting,” “The World of Watercolour,” “China Watercolour Figure Paintings,” and “Watercolour & Gouache, Pastel Exhibition.” DU Chonggang’s works are characterised by symbolic themes created through the collision of Chinese and Western cultures, resulting in a unique style. His works are full of poetry, often using delicate brushstrokes to depict multiple narratives, leading viewers to deep associations.
