Biography

Born in Xi‘an, CHAO Tiejun (Richard) is a renowned watercolour artist with solo and group exhibitions in Europe, USA, Asia, and Australia. Richard is an invited artist to watercolour demonstrations, workshops and lectures around the world, and presided as the judge to international art exhibitions. Richard is a featured artist by the French leading international professional journal The Art of Watercolour. Winner of over 60 major watercolour prizes during the last 5 years, among which First Prize in IWM - UK, A. J. Casson Award (First Place) in WSPWC 96th Exhibition - Canada, Mary Lind Award (Top Three) in NWS Member Exhibition - USA, and many others. Richard is a master member of International Watercolor Society (IWS), a member of National Watercolor Society of America (NWS) and a signature member of Global Association of Watercolor Artists (GAWA). Richard hopes he can interpret his understanding of the self, the world, and the universe into his paintings.
